ShiroKuroOh I love that!! That's such an adorable reaction, but also really neat because it shows how much the music is connecting with the baby!
I once had the occasion to talk with an opera singer (a male soprano AAMOF) who visited an elementary school in Japan where I was teaching. He did a little performance for the students (which was sooo neat, very intimate space etc.) and then I chatted with him afterwards.
And he talked about how you always know exactly how good you are, exactly how well you're doing, when you perform for children. Because they don't feign polite interest, which of course adults do. But children are very honest, and if you are connecting with them, you'll know, because they respond in ways that are clear and obvious. I always remembered that. (And I'm grateful when I'm having a train wreck of a performance that my audience aren't children!)
Sorry for the thread drift!
