Piano*DadA Capitol Fourth?
Trump to Compete ... or Pre-emptIf this displaces A Capitol Fourth, then I will turn the TV off. Moving the fireworks display seems like an attempt to diminish the event from the West Lawn.

NinaI'm with you. I guess I'm not so unusual in that I have great memories of watching A Capital Fourth with my family. (It helps that the 4th isn't a big outdoor holiday in AZ, because it's so freaking hot... even too hot for extended swimming pools).
If Trump trues to turn this into a giant rally, I will definitely refuse to watch. I might even write my congresscritters and PBS.
Of course, if PBS refuses to air, I'm sure that Fox would be more than happy to jump in....

Piano*DadThat's what I suspect will happen. We will wind up with Blue Fourth on PBS, though the content will be the same as before, and Red Fourth Trump Rally on another network. That's what Trump has been doing to the nation, and about 1/3 of us love it.

DanielPD, Hawaii had the lowest percent of people who voted for Trump, IIRC (there are a few other states with low percentages too). I think it was 3 of 10 voted for him. On one hand, I realize the chance of any random voter being a Trump supporter over two years ago is 3 of 10. On the other hand, I feel better when I think of the fact that 3 of 10 is not 1/3. I doubt 1/3 of the American population approves of Trump's job performance.

DanielNate? Not buying it.
Is Biden dominating everyone one week after his official announcement, too?
Wait. We have a Biden thread.
