Some 12 feet of snow is forecast for the Sierras through the weekend.

Doug, will this storm affect you?

Only if I wanted to drive somewhere this weekend. Skiing communities 40 minutes up the hill from me you’re going to get the 12 feet of snow. I will get a foot or two at my house which is a lot for Reno but I don’t think I’m gonna have to call FEMA…

The Sierras were a bit behind on their snowpack, so I'm guessing this will fix the "problem." Big Grin

You should do what I do to minimize snowfall - I have 3 working snowblowers in the garage - most snow we had this year was perhaps 2 inches.

I only have 2 working snowblowers and we got about 8” in the last storm.

Seems legit.

our local Reddit group has developed the custom of letting people know how the snow is in their particular neighborhood by posting pictures of their backyard patio furniture, and noting how high the snow is covering the bottles of liquor on the patio table. The snow is about two full Jose Cuervo’s deep this afternoon. very pretty but enough to shut things down around here for a day or so for those of us without chains and four-wheel-drive.

My sister in Gardnerville got about a foot.

Said it’s no big deal.

We lived on a dead-end street in Buffalo. When there was a big snowfall, ours was the last street to get plowed. So all the neighbors had a shoveling party, fueled by shots of brandy, which also helped keep us warm.
