I certainly didn't.

I had to use an app today that made me scroll back by the month until September '67.

I was born on a Thursday.

Who knew?

My mother, for whatever reason, was into that poem that starts "Monday's child is fair of face..."

Thus, I know that I am Saturday's child who has far to go.

Oddly, I can't remember the day of the week when two of my children were born. I remember Muffin's Sister was born on a Thursday, because her first few health crises happened on her "week birthdays," and I grew scared of them. She had open chest surgery on her one-week birthday. She had an abortive attempt to come off the ventilator on her three-week birthday. And so on. All on Thursdays.

Wow. Major flashbacks.

I thought mine was on a Monday.

I looked it up and it was a Tuesday.

Not sure I'm full of grace.

Yes, because of the poem. I’m fair of face, allegedly.

My second kiddo was born on MLK Day, so it was a Monday.

Can’t remember what day it was when first kiddo was born!

I had to look to find I was born on a Sunday.

I can remember the day that three of my five children were born because of associated events.

My wife had gone to bed while I continued watching Monday night football and her water broke shortly after I got into bed with her. Therefore, I know one son was born on a Tuesday,

Our first daughter was born on a Sunday. I'm sure of this because I remember wondering if we were going to get to the hospital in time because of Sunday traffic heading to the beach close to the hospital.

Our other daughter was born on a Saturday because I remember that all our well-laid plans to have a friend watch the other children were disrupted when my wife went into labor on Friday evening, which was the one evening shopping night of the week when we lived in Australia.

I had to look for the other two children. My oldest son was born on a Wednesday and my youngest son was born on a Monday.

Saturday.

As children in the 60's & 70's we all learnt the nursery rhyme:
Monday's child is fair of face
etc.

I wonder if it is still widely taught.

Saturday for me. I thought so but second guessed because I also know I was a “Father’s Day gift” so then I wondered if it was Sunday. And I thought Saturday’s child worked hard for a living and Thursday was the “has far to go”?

I definitely have never taught that to kids in the classroom and would not because there’s lots of yuck in the original poem. Whether or not parents do is another story.

Monday, of course. Wink

Monday’s Child Poem:
Monday’s child is fair of face

Tuesday’s child is full of grace

Wednesday’s child is full of woe

Thursday’s child has far to go

Friday’s child is loving and giving

Saturday’s child works hard for his living

And the child that is born on the Sabbath day

Is bonny and blithe, and good and gay.
