I will never again vote for anyone who runs as a Republican. The party is tainted. Filled with people who have covered for corruption and treason. This is the party of "good people" wearing hoods and brandishing Nazi symbols. The party that has gutted expertise, collaborated with our enemies and bullied our friends. The party that takes the military budget to build useless walls. The party that imprisons kids and lets them die on cement floors. The party whose leader brandishes a bible he has never read, after violently pushing protestors off Lafayette Square, with the chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff giving cover. And all the good Republican leaders simply avert their gaze, or mumble and quickly run out of earshot of reporters.

I speak for myself only, of course. But if five years from now some earnest man knocks on my door saying he is a Republican candidate for blah, blah, I will tell him all of this and ask exactly what he was doing from 2016 to 2020, and has he publicly apologized for his party's embrace of all of this. He will, no doubt, be offended by my aggressiveness, and I will invite him to get off of my lawn. The GOP has forever lost me, and I used to be a fairly reliable switch-hitter at the national level.

Ahhh, so it has nothing to do with Nikki Haley specifically.

I'm completely with you on all of the above. I have been a pretty reliable Democrat for as long as I've been old enough to vote. I've voted for a very few Republicans and a few Independents (like Ross Perot). I just thought maybe there was something in Ms. Haley's CV that disqualified her in your eyes... other than just being a member of the party of evil and corruption.

Thanks.
