If you are in a city, you may need to walk a couple blocks to the grocery store. If you are in Oregon, New Mexico, Idaho, or Montana, you may need to drive 40 miles to get to the nearest store. By this logic, Alaska is a bit of a head-scratcher. Maybe because people already tend to go for supplies less frequently.
