Fancy is OK. Great food is better.

Fancy is often less enticing to me. But a nice atmosphere? That I like. And there are dives and relative dives and nicer places that have great atmosphere.

That said, I haven't been inside a restaurant in more than a year. It feels weird to even say that.

I had to warn PJ it’s pretty beat up inside and conveniently located between two junkyards, but he didn’t seem to mind. As I recall he got a kind of sampler plate with dishes I haven’t found anywhere else.

I don’t think they slaughter chickens in the alley anymore but I heard they used to.

Mrs. Miller won’t have anything to do with the place. I’m gonna miss it.
My contemporaneous thoughts on dinner that night.

I went back and read the whole thread. I love your Kreplachia tale. You are an excellent storyteller.

Nina: I do love Kliban!

Those burritos do present a potential choking hazard. Nonetheless, I haven’t had one in years, and am craving one right now.

The discussion of skyline chili brought to mind a thread from the OCR many, many years ago.

Luke's Dad was describing a visit back home to Cincinnati with his wife and a friend of theirs in the car when his wife remarked as they drew near the city that she was really looking forward to having a "three way."

Hilarity ensued.

I sometimes wonder where all the people I've known through these forums (quite a few of whom I've met in person) are today and what they're doing.

Well, Luke's Dad and M&Ms will be here in town. We are supposed to get together 6/4.

No three ways but we get to meet their new son Fin.

I’m happy to report that I’ve sampled the Skyline and it was good!

A little bland, maybe, but good amped up with the raw onions. They have a new habanero cheese I didn’t try. The cinnamon and chocolate flavors are there, but they don’t stand out.

I can see why it’s popular. Yummy
