Seems like if it were true it wouldn’t have come to us by way of the Jerusalem and New York Posts.

You know what they say about something that seems too good to be true...

As for the article... I've always read that "cancer" is not one disease, and that's part of why it's so hard to treat, so they're saying "one cure that will fix everything in everybody" is a little hard to take at face value.

Having said that, it sure would be great it turned out to be true!!

Which is why my header ends with a question mark. Color me hopeful but skeptical.

Very skeptical.

bach next door said he's not familiar with the technology and is skeptical of any claim of a cure just a year off.

klaus talked to friends who are in pharma and work on similar technologies and they think it's bs.

The article gives the lie to the headline.

It seems a sound approach that could address many different cancers because its not planned to be 'off the shelf' - its planned to be personalized, similiar to Idec's approach, which means some lag between dx and treatment, during which the patient would need to avoid Rx so the tumor's characteristics dont change - could possible use radiation during the wait, maybe. 'Watchful waiting' is hard on cancer patients.
It will be an interesting series of clinical trials to run - I'm looking forward to their phase 1 (safety in humans ) data.

According to Morad, the MuTaTo cancer treatment will eventually be designed specifically for each person. A piece of each patient’s biopsy will be given to the lab, which will then analyze it to know which receptors are over-expressed, he said. “The individual would then be administered exactly the molecule cocktail needed to cure his disease.”

I wonder if they plan to tackle blood or brain cancers?
