I met Bill about a year ago. My friend Sue introduced me when we were out on a walk and Bill happened to be out in front of his house. I occasionally would run into him and stop to chat. Just the nicest guy ever, who after he retired, was working with at risk kids to help them develop life skills to help improve their chances of being successful adults.

Bill and his wife Stephanie have three kids. About a month ago, Bill mentioned that their daughter Alyssa was getting married in September. They were working on their father-daughter dance, and he was trying to trim his speech down to five minutes. I happened to see him and Stephanie earlier this week and you could see how happy and excited they were about the upcoming wedding, which is tomorrow.

Yesterday morning Bill died of a heart attack. He was 61, a runner, and looked to be in great health.

You just never know.
