When I was a young piano student in Buffalo, Ruth was teaching at another state university in Fredonia, NY, not far away. I didn’t realize her importance at the time, but now I’m kicking myself for not seeking her out as a teacher.

I recall that she was on the panel of judges for a local competition where I made the finals.
