Collecting video games
quote:
Collectors are as confused as you are about that $1.56M Super Mario 64 sale

Old-school collectors meet "new money" as sealed prices inflate 10x in two years.

I know video games are a huge business. Have a Playstation 4 and three games I like but rarely play.
I don't get spending that sort of bucks.

I see that kind of thing around here. As I say, “people with more money than brains”. People who just dropped $4M on a four bedroom house. People that get a new Land Rover every year (they are oh, so reliable because they trade it in before it needs anything fixed!). I sold some 30 year old Luxman audio components. I has paid $25 for the pre-amp and sold it for $200 because that’s what they were going for on fleabay… sold it to some Microsoft geek because one of his buds said Luxman was cool.

So, a million bux for a video game? Sure. Why not?

Will have to look through my son’s old video games to see if there are “treasures” among them.

My eldest has kept lots of old stuff, and even acquired more. He should see if any of it has some silly new cachet.
