rontunerWe've switched to Cologuard sample. More often, but without the hassle...

wtgYea, it's a great alternative for people of average risk, which I'm not.

DanielI have a consult the third week in April.
I'm more excited about getting this done with than doing it.

Jack FrostAt the beginning of my last one, I confessed that I may not have drunk all of the awful prep liquid. The doc smiled at me and said “well, we’ll just have to see how full of **** you are.”
I didn’t realize we were being censored. **** just doesn’t have the same impact!

QuirtEvansThere are now pills you can take instead of the awful prep liquid. I used those for my last colonoscopy. Much less unpleasant, although they are horse-sized.
Insurance doesn't cover them, though.

Steve MillerHad mine done a few months back.
Didn't have to drink the liquid, just took a bunch of OTC laxatives.

wtgI'm guessing this is what you did?
https://my.clevelandclinic.org...aration-instructionsDoesn't sound a whole lot different than taking the prescription stuff, except that it might be cheaper. I hate Gatorade....

QuirtEvansI've always been told I can drink ginger ale, lemonade or Perrier. I don't hate those.

That's it. The Blue Gatorade is better than the yellow stuff.

NinaAt my last, they told me I could drink gatorade but NOT THE RED GATORADE!! They had it all capitalized in my instructions.
I can only imagine why..... eeeeew
There are only four reasons to get a colonoscopy:
1. The drugs they give you for the scope itself
2. Getting it overwith
3. (God forbid) finding a problem early
4. Wearing your skinny jeans for a hot minute!

Why is the prep liquid awful?
Can you tell us more about these pills?

AdagioMThe pills are ginormous; I had a hard time getting them all down each time. You still have to drink a ton of water. But they were very effective.
