Hmm, that's almost exactly how I was imagining a grand would go there. Pianist sits with back to the left corner, lid opens up into the room, which mimics the position of a piano on a stage. This would, I think, also make the best use of overall space and leave more of the room. But I do like the idea of having the tail come out more into the room, the pianist would have her back more to the left corner. That would look nice, and maybe the space use would work out if I could figure out what to do with that corner where there are two doors and an HVAC return... But, in the meantime, no grand, just an upright, so...
If I do that, the pachira could go in the right corner, but the rocking chair would have to stay by the door... Maybe put the lamp and pachira in the right corner, castle in the left, and chair by the door??
Thanks for the suggestion Bernard, I think it's better without that shelf in the left corner, regardless of where I put the rest of the pieces! Maybe I'll decide tomorrow...
