Steve MillerHey, who has had their gallbladder out?
How are you feeling today?
21 April 2023, 08:50 AM
wtgImproving rapidly. Went for several walks around the block yesterday. Will go farther today.
One thing I found odd was how sore my body was yesterday, especially up around the head and neck. My jaw was sore, too. Must have been the position I was in when I was intubated.
Thanks for asking!

that's great WTG! I'm sorry you had a lot of soreness, but hopefully that will resolve quickly, or maybe it already did?

wtgI've been fortunate to have excellent health for all of my life so this was all a new and somewhat scary experience for me. My surgery was a nothingburger compared to what some of our fellow WTFers and their families have gone through medically speaking. I can't tell you how much it means to have had your support and encouragement. Thanks to you all!

NinaMy non-scientific theory on why you get post-surgical soreness in odd places: Even though you're fully sedated, your skeleton and muscles are still put under strain and stress.
Once you're back out of sedation and the long term effects of it (and any painkillers you may have had) are gone, you start noticing weird muscle soreness.
That's it folks, and remember I'm not a doctor.

wtgDefinitely the position of the body during surgery. The table was narrow and there are extensions that swing out perpendicularly. They had me extend my arms out to the sides, at which time I remarked that I felt like I was trying out for a part in a Passion Play. The anesthesiologist slapped a mask on me right about then and told me to breathe deeply…guy had no sense of humor….

big alI'm very familiar with the table you describe.
