Am home. Surgery went as expected, but I have five incisions rather than four. Didn't talk to the surgeon post-surgery so don't know why I got the extra. Maybe it was buy four, get the fifth for free. Feeling sore and a little nauseous. And sleepy.

See you later....

Glad you’re home! Maybe the fifth one was for the camera?

sounds like you had TWO more than the usual number of incisions. Normally all Gall is divided into three parts.

(glad you are home).

Somehow I missed learning you were facing gall bladder removal (I thought the thread was a kind of survey for who had had their gallstones removed).

I didn't get to wish you well as you headed into the OR, but at least I get to congratulate you for weathering the storm.

Very glad you're on "the other side" and glad it's just a (very) unpleasant memory. So many WTFers seem to have had gall stone issues, and it appears for some reason it clumps in marital units and families (the latter makes sense since there's a hereditary component).

Spoil yourself for a time! Guess there won't be any belly dancing for while, though. How great all that pre-operative pain is gone for good.

Happy to hear the surgery went well.

Don't kid yourself, that 5th incision probably cost an extra $10k or more.

Surgeon called this morning to see how I was doing and I asked him. It was for the cholangiogram, an x-ray of the common bile duct to check for stones stuck in the duct. Normally there are only four; even the nurses in recovery were surprised to see five.

Feeling pretty good today, just a little sore. Had a restless night but can catch up with naps whenever I want...
