I may not have always liked his work, but I always really liked him. I met him in the late 60s -- I was just a teenager. My mom and I visited his home numerous times over the years. He was very generous with other artist friends. He would open his lovely home to showcase their work. Always great food, drink and good background music.

I'm sorry to hear that. That kind of abstract work has never been dear to me, but I recognize the importance of his work with color and shape.
