You better believe it. They had bars that searched you on the way in to see if you had a gun. If you didn't they'd loan you one.

The best punk club was in Newport, the Jockey Club. CBGB West. Spent many fun nights in that degenerate place.

It was not something I engaged in a lot. The first time was at the Zebra Club in San Diego. We went in and some little Marine slammed into my girlfriend, knocking her down which pissed me off to no end. I picked him up, threw him hard onto the floor, expecting him to come up and get into it. Instead he just laughed delightedly and went to to slam someone else. It was then it dawned on me that I was the one who did not quite grasp what was going on here.
