I think you’re right. I didn’t realize Yamaha had a lid lock knob in the same place as S&S. And they both have the logo on the side, but the S&S says “Steinway and sons”, so longer, and it’s up higher. I stand corrected.

I only guessed Yamaha because not too long ago, a cherry red Yamaha G-something, much smaller than the one pictured above, that had been owned by Elton John, was auctioned off and I read that EJ is a Yamaha artist. /pianonerd

IIRC (which is doubtful) Elton was shilling for Casio keyboards.

Well, he is (was? will be?) an "official" Yamaha artist... and since they sell keyboards as well... Maybe it was a one-off or past relationship??

Well, his million dollar piano from his Caesars Palace show a decade ago certainly isn't red. Million $$ piano But he has certainly used red Yamahas for years. | |||
