Sizes of floppies. Reel-to-reel tape speeds - IPS. 367-80, or just “Dash 80” was the model designation of the prototype 707. NFFMCo’s last piston passenger plane was the 367, so they called the secret new jet the “367-80” to obscure the fact they were working on a secret new jet.

I would have never gotten the computer stuff. Or much of the car stuff. 80/20 is also a common reference to quality. As in, 80 percent of pop (or any style) music is crap and 20 percent is quality. Model numbers of anything are hard to guess unless they’re a very common consumer item.

80/20 shows up in a lot of places. At the NFFMCo, 20 percent of the customers own 80 percent of the aeroplanes.
