I sent him a cartoon.
He texted back a selfie. That was the first I knew of the ventilator. He sent a laughing emoji.
My niece was holding bank info because her daughter is in Hawaii at the new home of one of my sister's sons. She did not want to spring any bad news on the 19 year old, big, healthy girl.
