Unless I've missed something, one clear lesson to be drawn from this horrific consequence, is to completely avoid pregnancy tests in medical facilities.

Sure, some times one would wish to learn about dangerous health risks of ones pregnancy. Mostly though, it's safer to rely on home tests for privacy and safety.
