This just burns me up. The dog needs to be put down. Now. The next time it "gets away" a small child may be killed.

I really have no sympathy for people like this owner who just wanted the consequences of this animal's vicious behavior squelched in a soft apologetic embrace of "so sorry, I'll pay your vet bill." We may give people second chances, after putting them in jail for a while, but we have no particular reason to give the dog a second chance.
