Sock knitting machines are so fantastic! It's on my list to get one eventually. They run around $1k I think. There's a woman up here who makes the rounds with her machine to the village summer faires and home comings. They're so neat.
Very nice! There’s a group of women here who just started a small biz, Side Hustle Socks. They’ll crank up a tube for you; you get to put in afterthought heels and toes. They are doing classes on said heels and toes, too.
I like her technique for not having to do any sewing. I wouldn't crochet a small chain at the end but rather weave the end in. I'd also not snip off the scrap around the toe--I'd frog it off. But nice!
My mom had several hand crank sock knitting machine and sold her socks for a few years. She got bored eventually - as she does with every hobby - and it was time to move onto the next thing!
