it's something you bought from Amazon but it weighs over 200lbs and will be delivered by two people?

To your front door? (there are some steps)

What about if they carry the item around the side of the house to the basement door? (no steps but it's farther from the driveway)

P.S., I'm getting a treadmill!!
happydance

A lot of deliveries are listed as curbside, and they mean it. I’d you want white glove service (closer to the house or inside) it’s extra.

Some delivery guys will bring it closer, or even in the house, if you tip them.

Depends on the delivery service. AFAIK FedEx and UPS will not bring boxes inside even if you ask.

Congratulations on the treadmill.

I should have explained, I selected the delivery option that says "Scheduled Delivery; Inside Entryway," and it's being delivered by a company called Pilot (although it's "ships and sold by Amazon").

So, given the inside-entryway delivery (and not USP, USPS, TBA, or FedEx), what do you think about a tip?

Also, they are supposed to bring it across the threshold, as it were.... But I really want them to take it to the basement door (since Mr. SK will put it together in the basement). Potentially they could drive their truck up to the basement door... maybe.

I hope it's not raining!!!

I'd tip for anything other than "drop it on the porch".

I’ve tipped my grocery clerks that bring out my pick up orders, twice, but they’re really not supposed to accept tips. And then I ran out of cash for tips, because I never use cash...so no more. they’re not expecting it.

This one:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/prod...04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The one with the 5inch monitor. Also, don’t buy it if it’s more than $700, I was watching it go in and out of stock, and sometimes it would show up as over $900 or more, from different sellers.

Another one, which I would have considered but wasn’t in stock, is the ProForm 505 CST Treadmill:
SG_TRG:01312021_DSG_BackInStock:LINK_1&customerkey=" target="_blank">https://www.dickssportinggoods...:LINK_1&customerkey=

This one should also not be more than $700. (i.e. don’t buy it if it is more)

Let me know if you have any specific questions. Smiler

https://camelcamelcamel.com/

Camelcamelcamel is a price tracking site. You can set a threshold and if the price drops below it you get an alert. I also just use it to see where the price has been historically.

It’s Amazon-focused (everybody else is lumped into a “third party” category), but I still find it helpful.

I'd increase the tip. At least $20 each. Better yet if there's two of them, hand them a $50 bill and tell them to split it. They'll be very pleased with that.

Regardless of what you're being charged for the delivery, the guys delivering it are getting pretty close to minimum wage. Well worth the cash IMO to give them a nice tip.

PS: Congratulations on your purchase! Mr. AM and I both use our treadmill; it gets way more use than our exercise bike ever did. Probably because we can prop an iPad on it and watch Netflix; that’s my incentive.

Our treadmill used to be upstairs in Mr. AM’s office; he wanted to be able to walk and talk on the headset phone. That didn’t work well, and the house was bouncy enough that I could hear/feel the footfall vibration from other places in the house (like when I was asleep) and so that wasn’t good. So it didn’t get much use there. I had it moved to the basement, and it’s perfect down there.
