quote:Actor-comedian D.L. Hughley, who collapsed in the middle of his set at a Nashville comedy club, has announced that he tested positive for the coronavirus.
The 57-year-old stunned patrons and employees when he lost consciousness while performing at the Zanies comedy nightclub on Friday night.
On Saturday, Hughley posted a video on Twitter in which he told his fans that he was treated for exhaustion and dehydration afterward.
“I also tested positive for COVID-19, which blew me away,” he says in the clip. “I was what they call asymptomatic. I didn’t have any symptoms, the classic symptoms.”

Omar, a representative from Minnesota, fled Somalia as a refugee and has been a citizen since she was 17. Her father died from COVID-19 a few days ago.

The Serbian tennis star released a statement on his diagnosis, saying that he and his wife have both contracted the virus after he organized a series of exhibition matches in southeastern Europe.
The events, called the Adria Tour, have been widely criticized for not maintaining significant social distancing protocols.
The stands were packed with fans, as The Associated Press noted. Tennis.com reported that players were seen mingling without proper social distancing, playing in basketball and soccer games, and visiting a nightclub.
Djokovic was photographed in close contact with tennis player Grigor Dimitrov, who has also tested positive for the virus.
"We organized the tournament at the moment when the virus has weakened, believing that the conditions for hosting the Tour had been met," Djokovic said in his statement. "Unfortunately, the virus is still present, and it is a new reality that we are still learning to cope and live with."

I'm sure you're right WTG, but I don't think it's helpful to continue calling that "asymptomatic." Obviously, it's only in hindsight that it becomes clear that it was "pre-symptomatic," but in terms of conveying the dangers etc., there seems to be a clear need for changing the way these things are described. And by medical personnel of course, the gentleman who collapsed is probably just repeating what he's hearing other people describe, perhaps even his doctors.
And there's probably an element of "please don't blame me, I didn't have any reason to know or realize I was getting sick," because no one wants to be thought of as irresponsible or needlessly putting others at risk....
I am just down here watching people in my town act as if there's no such thing as covid, and the city just this morning released its findings about covid levels detected in wastewater pointing to a very high number of infections here....
It's so, so frustrating. And scary.
