This site hasn't closed down, but the WTF crowd has pretty much moved over to WTF-Beta. This original incarnation of WTF here on groupee has gradually been developing problems over the last few years, making it less and less functional. It's hard to edit or delete posts because the reply with quote/edit/delete icons are invisible. Most emoticons show up as little blue boxes. The PM and password reset functions no longer work because there is something broken in the email portion of the groupee software. We have no way to report these problems to the Groupee people, though that is probably a moot point because the software is so old that Groupee (or whoever bought them out) is not putting any money into maintaining it. The user interface design is old and from a technical perspective, the software no longer meets current internet protocols. It will only continue to break in more ways as it gets more out of date. WTF-Beta was originally set up in 2021 as a backup site in case this place imploded suddenly one day. Groupee keeps limping along, but as things kept breaking for more and more people here, WTFers gradually started migrating over to Beta. Some members who use phones and tablets had apparently stopped checking in here because it was so cumbersome and too hard to read. They've come back and are on WTF-Beta because there's a mobile interface that is phone/tablet friendly. https://wtf.coffee-room.com/recent The Beta software is solid and it has tons of features that we don't have here. You can pick your own colors ("skins") and set up all sorts of notifications. Like any new software there's a bit of a learning curve, but the payoff is a forum that actually works. Anyway, this place is still idling away here, and if any old members come back they should be able to find us at Beta. Ballyhoo, who had not posted for many years, recently signed up with a new user name over on Beta. BTW, JF's Christmas Playlist came up in a thread on Beta about Christmas decorations and music. With a link to the Spotify playlist with your music selections that Nina put together a few years ago! I still have the CDs you sent me some years back and am happily listening to them as I decorate my tree. Thanks again!

Daniel, there are a whole bunch of color and font combinations that are available to choose from. How you do it depends on what device you're on. If you're posting from a computer/laptop, there's a little pencil icon in the lower left hand corner, second icon from the bottom. Click on it and it displays the Skins you can choose from. They're grouped as Light and Dark, so you were on the money when you mentioned changing the page from a light background to something else. If you click on the name of a Skin, it will change your display immediately. Don't like it? Try another one till you find one that suits you. An extra few steps to change the skin if you're on a phone or tablet.... Click on your avatar and select Settings. One of the settings is called Skins. Unlike the desktop/laptop display, the Skins are in alphabetical order and not grouped as Light and Dark. If you click on that, it will change the display to show the new skin, but if you want to keep it, you have to Save Changes. If you don't Save Changes, once to move on to another page it will revert to what you had when you came into the Settings.
