Mississippi election commissioner: "I'm concerned about voter registration in Mississippi," the commissioner wrote. "The blacks are having lots (of) events for voter registration. People in Mississippi have to get involved, too."
To be fair, a lot of people are very upset about this and are calling for her resignation.
(Given the way that this awful statement was phrased, perhaps I should clarify. A lot of people are very upset about this and they are calling for her resignation, and some of them--perhaps many of them--are white.)
