I really wish we had video from the moment when Trump learned about the result of the audit.

Apparently most of it wasn’t paid for by taxpayers. Which is a potentially troubling thing all by itself…

The conclusion will dismay Trump supporters who had pushed for the review, many in the expectation that it would prove his unfounded assertions that he was robbed of re-election due to orchestrated fraud. So far no such proof has been produced either by Trump or his backers.

Outside groups tied to the "Stop the Steal" movement and other efforts to cast doubt on the 2020 results raised nearly all of the $6 million to fund the inquiry, viewing it as a catalyst for similar investigations in Pennsylvania, Michigan and other battleground states that Trump lost.

The big waste of taxpayer money is the millions it cost to replace the voting machines that went out of chain-of-custody and can never again be used for an election.

You’re right. I forgot about that.

Though there is that bit of satisfaction that Trumpers spent a lot of money and didn’t get the desired result….

Well this is surprising.

quote:
Arizona Governor Doug Ducey has said there will be "no decertification" of the state's 2020 presidential election results following an audit in Maricopa County that was highly anticipated by supporters of former President Donald Trump.

Ducey, who is a Republican, took to Twitter on Friday to say the election outcome would not be decertified and that the law did not allow for decertification despite demands from Trump.

"It is not even believable the dishonesty of the Fake News Media on the Arizona Audit results, which shows incomprehensible Fraud at an Election Changing level, many times more votes than is needed," Trump said.

"The Fake News Media refuses to write the facts, thereby being complicit in the Crime of the Century. They are so dishonest, but Patriots know the truth! Arizona must immediately decertify their 2020 Presidential Election Results," the statement went on.

He sounds a bit unhinged.

Not necessarily surprising. Ducey may be an opportunistic manipulator, but he knows that there's no possible grounds to decertify an election at this stage. He's also term-limited and I'm honestly not sure what his future political plans are, if any. But Arizona is most definitely trending blue, so that may be another part of it.

Kelli Ward - now there's a bonafide nutcase.
