Has Achieved Nirvana
| Point taken, though a week ago they did this: quote: Walmart on Tuesday said it is implementing an emergency leave policy for the retailer's 1.4 million hourly workers in response to the coronavirus, saying they'll receive up to two weeks pay if they have to be quarantined or are diagnosed with the illness.
The nation's largest private employer also said that if store, warehouse club or distribution center employees are not able to return to work after two weeks, up to 26 weeks of additional pay could be provided for both full- and part-time workers. The policy covers both Walmart and Sam's Club workers no matter when they were hired. But it would be nice if they gave back some of those tax breaks they've gotten in the last couple of years. What was noteworthy to me was that the call looking for help was made the previous day (on Thursday of last week). The administration should have been planning this stuff six or more weeks ago when we saw what was happening in China. But back then it was a hoax and no worse than the flu for some folks. -------------------------------- When the world wearies and society ceases to satisfy, there is always the garden - Minnie Aumônier
