This is how we do it in my neighborhood:

Steve’s House

Reserve judgment until you get to “Steve’s palace.”

Has that "lived-in casino" look that is all the thing these days. A stripper pole and a few flashing lights and this place would be perfect.

OMG. The jackets and the dog food! What is spqr? Love that the one photo had two shirts that were the exact same color as all the rooms in the house (burgundy and gold). Hilarious. And then the yard looks like ****!

How many weird things can you spot?

OK, why is there a gold railing behind a love seat?

And, silly me. I thought the top of a refrigerator is where you put the potato chips and anything else you don't want the dog to get. I didn't know you could keep *two* vases full of flowers up there.

And how do you get a solid upper body workout with that floor lamp in the way?

Eight 50-pound bags of dog food? No wonder the back yard looks like carp.

On the last picture, do I see a black bag under the desk that might contain a corpse?

And just for Jodie: "SPQR stands for senatus populusque Romanus, "the Roman Senate and peo- ple," which was the traditional description of the state in imperial as well as republican ancient Rome."

This guy is a retiree bachelor who lives a few miles from me. (You know how weird they can be.)

He apparently traced his lineage back to some Roman emperor, and has taken it all a bit too much to heart.

Now you know what happens when someone really IS afflicted with the Midas touch.

Kind of alarming to see those fans all over the place (golden, natch), from ceiling to free-standing floor fans.

Is it possible that someone so rich (and I infer, hefty - gauging by the size of the upper body garments) economized by doing without central air? In the desert??

And nary a pool in sight!

“Senatus Populusque Romanus”. The senate and the people of Rome. It was all over flags and buildings and stuff in Rome lime 2000 years ago.

Caligula, most likely.

A hot tub in the living room? Seriously?

And who does all that gold stuff remind you of?

Perched high atop a mountain in Sparks, Nevada, Steve Lansky, a bachelor and retiree, enjoys a sprawling panorama of the city of Reno and the breathtaking Sierra mountain-range from his seemingly typical suburban home. Needless to say, the view alone is impressive, but the home's interiors are the reason we needed to share this house tour with you.
The inspiration behind this five-bedroom, three bathroom palace was intended to be a tribute of-sorts to Lansky's supposed royal ancestry. It started with the Brooklyn-native's childhood enthusiasm for Roman history, which eventually sparked an investigation into his own lineage. As it turns out, he tells us he's a direct descendent of Roman Emperor Vespasian. To pay homage to his newfound roots, Lansky took the nest egg he acquired from his time on Wall Street and in the IT Staffing business and designed a home which he says is "totally created for opulence."

I am feeling the sudden urge to spray paint everything in my house gold, starting with the toilet seat and tank lid.

Not to mention purchase a literal throne for use as an office chair. Do you think I can get one on Amazon?

Where has this inspiration been all my life????
