I first heard this in Nashville, and it’s still true.

No glass next to the bathroom sink. That’s a long way away! Unspillable flip-top water bottle on the nightstand.

Yes, for one reason. I brush my teeth at the sink in the bathroom and I want a glass of water available to rinse my mouth out afterward. I usually get drinking water in a cup in the kitchen from the dispenser on the refrigerator door.

I would be a terrible airbnb host because it would never occur to me to provide something on the nightstand for middle of the night drinks of water. It's a foreign concept to me. The only exception I can think of is if I eat something salty like pizza for dinner, and might get up to have some water.

How many of you besides dol, Nina, and AM are midnight water sippers?

We have a "closet" in the bathroom, so that's where we keep the glass and toothbrushes etc.

Neither of us have a glass or other water container on the nightstand.

We both keep bottles of SmartWater by the bed. It’s not because we want to, but because there’s no bathroom basin on this upstairs floor (though there is a toilet). We could just bring up tap water, but it tends to get funky, and the bottled water stays good.

We do have water connections but no basin or vanity. Years ago we did have a sink. Can’t remember why we got rid of it…maybe just old and non-working.
