Today a Junco died from hitting our sunroom window. Poor little guy was being chased by a hawk, who swooped right by the window about three feet off the deck right after.

Hawks are becoming abundant here again. We took a drive to a restaurant we had seen on CBS Saturday Morning. In forty miles I saw twelve hawks flying.

We started seeing a lot of Cooper's Hawks (both the bird and the restaurant chain!) in our area maybe 15 years ago.

Lots of nests. Sometimes you can tell where the nest is because there are remnants of hawk meals on the sidewalk below....ewwww......
