NinaAnother Netflix movie worth watching
The Trial of the Chicago 7...
I highly recommend it. It's the story of the leadup to the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago, and the subsequent arrests of 7 agitators. Very well done.
I was too young to remember many deals (for example, I had no idea about Bobby Searle's treatment). It's riveting, infuriating, and really scary looking at it from 2020's lens.
The only thing that made me stop and go hmmm.... 4 of the main cast (3 on trial, and the judge) are Brits. Maybe more, those were just the ones I immediately knew. They all do a great job, but what an odd coincidence.
Good thing they weren't asked to translate any poetry....

piquéSecond the recommendation. Remember it vividly, even though I was only 12. Have a friend who was there while studying at U of C who tells great stories.
Sacha Baron Cohen as Abbie Hoffman--a great performance.

rontunerThe filming of the outdoor scenes in the park was a block from our place.
After the movie came out they had picture posters up in the park with photographs - Kindof a "stand here" and look back in time to see the statue on the hill and the hotel where the convention was being held along with the movie photos.

Jack FrostThird the recommendation. I am afraid I am old enough to remember the real thing well.
