Speakeasy boarded up since the 1930's is opened up to reveal original murals. They called it the "Bucket of Blood" because of the huge mugs they used to serve beer.

Very cool! When I was a grad student at the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, I rented an apartment upstairs from what was called the Peabody Book Shop and Beer Stube. Historically, it had been a speakeasy, and the book store fronting the street WAS a front for the speakeasy in the back. Of course, the "speakeasy" is now legal and I in fact earned some extra money playing the old upright piano there.

I hope they do turn it into a museum. I will go. I wish the poster has shared some pictures of the space. It's fascinating that it's been boarded up since the 30s. There are still a few treasures lurking around... and Seattle's International District is just the sort of place to find them.
