What a boring, grim, awful display. I finally had to turn it off. I realize that all opening ceremonies have a political undertone, but this was in your face. Topped off by the empty stands, the socially distanced teams--it was a dystopian nightmare. Ugh.

I am a soft touch for the winter Olympics. You don't want to listen to me picking apart the technique errors of the alpine events skiers.

A kid, Red Gerard, from across the road from my home in Colorado won a gold medal in Slopestyle in the previous Olympics and I will be cheering him on again.
