How's that for a description?

There have been a lot of articles about the impact of the recently passed legislation. I almost didn't read these links because I figured I'd already seen most of what they're discussing, but found that one in particular that pertains to IRA distributions does affect me. I hadn't heard about it previously.

For your reference, an overview and FAQ (which has both general and Fidelity-specific info).

I just learned about the suspension of RMDs yesterday in a newletter I get from Charles Schwab, who handles the 401k plan I have retirement savings in and also one of my pensions. I had made some qualified charitable distributions from my IRA already this year, but still anticipated needing to make further distributions either to charities or to my and my wife's taxable income later this year and didn't relish having to do that on the end of 2019 basis. This suspension will give our accounts some more time to recover from the recent drops in the market.
