I'm drinking OJ (Most pulp) as I type.. I was drinking it before I read this too. Dr. Pauling. I remember him. We followed his advice for a while. I think I was taking 1500mg or more every day. | |||

The Chinese were giving patients massive dosages of C according to something I read. Nothing definite was stated about improvement.

In the earlier days of the pandemic, some doctors were recommending zinc tablets too. Haven’t heard that much about them lately.

I take 1000 mg a day. I take an iron supplement, and the generally accepted wisdom is that vitamin C helps the body absorb iron. I've been doubling that for the last week or so. Over the years, I've been convinced that vitamin C bolsters the immune system. And it's a water-soluble vitamin, so it's cannot be overdosed. Costco had a good supply of 500 mg chewable vitamin C tabs. When I feel like I am coming down with something, I also take Echinacea. I think that is also loaded with vitamin C. Last month while I was in Ethiopia, I caught a cold. The hotel restaurant had no OJ, so I googled "foods with more vitamin C than oranges". Apparently, fresh pineapple has a lot more, and it was the only thing on the list that was on the buffet -- and that was safe to eat (peeled or cooked). I ate two or three cups of fresh pineapple.
