Tornadoes
Called a man that farms some of my land after the tornados hit.
He told me he was near Hayti, Missouri at the intersection of I55 and the exit for the branch of I55 that goes east to Tennessee. It is 14 miles south of the house where I was reared.
People he knew had suffered a lot of damage and he was helping them. They are from a family my mother knew well.
He said a truck driver, a pickup truck driver, and a 9 year old girl were killed. Two deaths are being reported from that location.
A large portion of Caruthersville was damaged. A cousin and his wife are running their generator. The other cousin is ok.
The town will be without power for a while. All the lines are down.
Dawson Springs, Kentucky lost 75% of its home. Had thanksgiving dinner there with friends years ago. It was cooked on a wood stove, which was next to a modern one. That convinced me that I never want a wood stove.
A house I own that I lived in was near the path of the tornadoes that went to Tennessee and Kentucky. Glad I moved.

Several people have eaten my cooking and survived.

It's hard to imagine a funnel on the ground for over 200 miles. That churned up path could probably be seen from orbit.

Kentucky was reportedly hit hardest. Gov. Beshear is all over the news. Mitch McConnell, not so much.

Rand Paul DEMANDED federal aid. Hypocrite. His attitude towards NJ was rather different after Sandy.

Yes

It's really easy to criticize all federal spending until you decide you want some of it.

NBC is reporting that the candle factory workers were threatened with dismissal if they left work due to the impending weather conditions.

I wonder if the amazon workers were treated similarly.
