Was just here visiting from Portland. Arrived Monday, left yesterday. She is in grad school (downtown), lives in a dorm. Works weekends an hour away (has to take public transportation) at Costco. We did outdoor stuff, think she came in two stores with me while she was here (masks are required) She got home yesterday afternoon and last night called late because she has a low grade fever and is nauseous... student health service is closed, she’s waiting for a nurse to call her back. No idea how she will get tested, or where she will quarantine. (No car) If it’s Covid, my guess is she either picked it up at work or traveling here. She is a little freaked out.
What mode of travel did she use to visit you? I tend to be suspicious of extended time in confined spaces which is what long distance travel often entails. I hope she can get a prompt diagnosis and that whatever is afflicting her passes quickly.

She flew from Portland to Bozeman (because it’s a non-stop flight) and I drove over to pick her up. (About 1.25 hour drive). She said the flights were not crowded. But she had to take public transport from downtown to the airport in Portland.
The nurse on call told her to wait until the student health center is open on Monday. Fever is low grade - like I had - right now it’s between 99 and 99.5.
Oh, gosh...hope she's OK. Public transit is tough. I'm even reluctant to take local buses. Sending best wishes for her!

She just called - they are having her move across campus (10 - 15 minute walk) to an isolated dorm room with a kitchen - told her they won’t bring food (she has to bring enough to last 10 - 14 days) (Montana tech is delivering food to their quarantined kids - Steve is really ticked at PSU) She doesn’t have enough food for 10 - 14 days, so she is going to have to go to the grocery store Before she goes. And they are still trying to figure out how to get her tested...
Jodi, I am so sorry to hear this, esp. your most recent update with details of the lack of care and responsibility that PSU is showing! Shameful!! I hope she has a way to have food delivered??
