Well, our budget keeps getting pushed higher... Did someone here say they use Asus? Any thoughts about it? I'm looking at this one right now for Mr. SK: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/a...7938.p?skuId=6507938

Thanks Lisa! But whew, I found it at Amazon, ships and sold by Amazon. We were going to get it from Best Buy, but although it was available yesterday, this morning it was sold out. Anyway, this is what he got: https://www.amazon.com/gp/prod...o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1 He has an external monitor, so now he'll basically have three screens, and this is the first time he'll have a touchscreen. He is really excited to use that additional screen with his art software. I think I need to go lie down. When did buying a laptop become so stressful.

Oh and btw, when he started looking, the budget was $900. Guess we went a little bit over that...

I was late to the multiple screen world with PCs and now that I have two, I can't imagine how I got along with only one. Congrats to Mr. SK!

Do you mean you have a dual screen laptop? If so, what kind? I'm guessing thought that you mean you have two monitors? I have a laptop plus external monitor, which is awesome, but I would love to have yet another screen for when I'm doing data analysis! /greedy!

So, more stuff happened. As above, yesterday morning I ordered the Asus from Amazon because it was showing as sold out from Best Buy. As of this morning, the Amazon order had not yet shipped, they hadn't charged my card, and there was no delivery estimate. The machine I ordered was the only one I could find that was listed as "ships and sold by Amazon," all the other ones were sold by random third-party sellers. I was starting to feel suspicious about when we might actually get the laptop. I looked at the product listing on Best Buy again -- and loo and behold, it was showing as available. But for $100 more than the one I ordered from Amazon. I really wanted to buy from Best Buy anyway, so I called them and asked about a price match... They can't do price matches from invoices, and the one they could see on Amazon was not "ships and sold by Amazon" and they only price match when Amazon is the seller. But BB also gives you 15 days after purchase to do a price match. So I figured I could order the BB machine, cancel the Amazon order, and once the Amazon machine appears back on the website, call BB and get a price match after the fact. This is a bit risky bc that machine might not show up on Amazon for the same price, or someone might buy it before I have the chance to do the price match etc.... Whatever, I prefer to buy from a place with a brick and mortar store, I decided I'll risk it. So I made the order with BB, and canceled my order with Amazon. In about 10 minutes, that machine was back on Amazon, for the price of my original order, which is $100 less than the price at BB. I call BB, and the gal helping me says yes they can do a price match for the price on Amazon, but let's also check Walmart. Now, I had looked at Walmart laptops yesterday and didn't see a better price on the same machine with the right specs. The BB gal put me on hold. While I'm on hold, I'm searching all over Walmart's page and don't see that machine with the same specs. But the BB rep found one! And it was $320 less than BB's price!! So long story short, she price matched the Walmart price, which was better than Amazon's price as well. We'll go to pick it up at Best Buy next week.

Yep! Esp. because when I told him I was thinking about canceling the Amazon order and buying from BB, Mr. SK was like, there's no way that's gonna work! He was happy to be wrong!

Yes, two monitors. Technically I have three, two stand-alone monitors and the screen on my laptop, but I don't really have a setup where I can keep my laptop open.

A few years ago, I had Mr. SK add a shelf to the back of my desk (the top of the shelf is even with the top of the desk) to increase the space on the desk and make it easier to accommodate an external monitor and other stuff... But it's not wide enough to accommodate my laptop and two external monitors. Maybe I need to get a new desk. /Desk top bloat

Nice! It has what Apple’s “touch strip” could have been. It sure how well received the “secondary touch screen” will be in the market place, but I admire the innovation.

Yeah, I think it would be of interest mainly to people who are using something like Illustrator or QDA software or some kind of program where you'd want to have a bunch of tools open and also have a big window for your main work area. And probably a lot of people who do that already have an external monitor... Anyway, check back in a few months and we'll know what Mr SK thinks of that additional screen!
