jon-nycBring on the storms...
Finally got this delivered this morning:
https://powerequipment.honda.c...tors/models/eu7000isBack in October I had an electrician install a transfer switch, it's not whole-house but it's enough capacity for everything I need. I could go on indefinitely without power.

wtgNice generator; I'm sure it's much quieter than the cheapo Champion that we have.
We installed a manual transfer switch maybe 15 years ago. I think we've averaged one extended outage per year, and the setup has come in very handy. We briefly considered replacing it with a whole house standby system but just can't justify the cost.

pianojugglerPut a reminder on your phone or calendar to start it and let it run for five minutes once a month. Become familiar with STA-BIL.
