Bradford pear trees are truly Satan's spawn.

When they're in full bloom, from far away they are beautiful.

But you don't have to get very close before you start to smell them. Calling the smell "rotting fish" is too kind. Barf

We have one. The trunk has split at least once and was found leaning against the neighbor's roof. No real damage though.

My tree guy calls it "the money tree" because he makes so much money removing damaged branches and trunks.
