But the biggest thing the Harris pick says is this: They think they’re going to win.

"The odds calculations are based on a moderately liberal Democrat's chances of winning [NOT a conservative Democrat] in that State or District against a Republican candidate."
OT: Democrats have to be, "moderately liberal" or "centrist." Republicans can be neo-fascists.
This is how we got to where we are now, IMHO. Trump wants to terminate Social Security and put Medicare in the general budget to strangle it.
I started ignoring (as much as possible) Trump two weeks after his inauguration.
His endless political rallies and abrasive personality, not to mention the impeachment that was like throwing a stick of butter against a wall seemed very unpleasant, redundant, and pointless.
Now I'm starting to think the rest of you were right and I was wrong.
Kamala Harris? She seems compatible enough with Joe Biden.
Blue no matter who.
Is there any other reasonable and logical choice?

That's a really good piece. And the Manning/Leaf reference is right on point. Don't outsmart yourself.
Personally, I think she'll do a lot better than hold her own in the VP debate, but Pence will be Teflon because he'll be unflappable and ignore the questions and give canned responses.

CindysphinxShe’s only a few years younger than I am, but she did things very differently. I did not consider attending a black college. Never crossed my mind. Wouldn’t have gone if they gave me a full ride.

pianojugglerWell the first thing to watch for is what childish insulting nickname will I-1 start calling Ms. Harris.
Certainly he will be calling her Kamala--rhymes with Pamela, like Tugger Coralson did last night (even after being corrected).

pianojugglerWell, so far, she is "very very nasty" -- I-1's go-to adjective for any woman he doesn't like, especially ones that are more competent or powerful than he is (which is pretty much every woman on the planet, no?).

Apparently the Biden screeners asked each potential candidate what they thought "Trump would call you" right in the first interview.

Ok, this is super helpful for me!!! Was it this thread where I posted that I hear her name wrong in my head? Anyway, I think I've gotten it fixed now. Thanks Tucker.

jon-nycHer mother's Indian. I just think along the lines of 'Kerala', but with 'Kam'.
