Ok, now I have to really start pronouncing her first name right.

When I read, I hear it in my head as a Japanese pronunciation, and every time I hear it pronounced out loud by someone else, i remember "oh I'm saying it wrong" ...

It's like, Kama-la is correct, but I have always heard/read it as Ka-ma-la...

This is why I do sociolinguistics....
