No. Too easy to make fresh.

Nah, but I'll admit to not being a mashed tater eater except maybe some at Thanksgiving...

I didn't even know there was such a thing as frozen mashed potatoes. I'm accustomed to peeling potatoes, cooking them in boiling water, beating them with the Kitchenaid mixer along with a little milk and butter, and then eating them. I like them with gravy, but my wife does not like gravy so I don't have it very often. I'll raise a couple of related questions? What do you do with leftover mashed potatoes? What my mother taught me was to shape them into modest-sized cakes to save in the refrigerator and then fry those cakes up to reheat them. Do you eat instant mashed potatoes? I don't. They tasted a little strange to me when they came on the market. They may have changed but I haven't tried them in years. Big Al

I don’t like instant mashed potatoes but I recently tried the frozen kind (Bob Evans brand) and they’re indistinguishable from freshly-made. You can’t beat them for convenience. They’re especially useful here because the potatoes I buy in the winter won’t last for more than a week no matter how I store them.

Mom used to fry them up as pancakes the next day. Lots of green onions. We usually eat them with soup or stew over the next few days.

True confessions time: I’ve never made mashed potatoes before. I’ve only made potato salad once, using Kewpie mayo, per SK’s recommendation. I love both of the above; I just don’t make them. I love it when someone else does!
