Have you seen this Netflix show? The first episode, Salt, takes place in Japan where the types of salt are said to number in the thousands. They explore ancient methods of making salt, some of which are disappearing.

Most of the show is shot on various islands and the scenery is breathtaking. Much of the dialog is in Japanese with subtitles.
