DanielYou wouldn't catch me dead there. I don't think most people have a realistic idea of how prevalent and pervasive the mafias are in these regions.

Piano*DadMany of my friends have visited Sicily and come away loving the place.
None have been bumped off by the Mafia ...

MikhailohI seriously doubt Italian organized crime is against bringing money onto the island.
I dreamed last night I was in Italy visiting friends, one of whom grew up in Naples. It was quite a detailed dream and ended with me considering buying a house. Sometimes you don't know what triggers your dreams, but I think I can pin this one on this thread.
Heck, I didn't have to go to Sicily. I grew up with mafiosi. Town was run by them. Look up Melrose Park and the name Serpico.

Haven't been able to get away from them even though I haven't lived in MP since high school. I ended up working for a Serpico at the Merc. Bought a car from a Serpico. And our vet is also a Serpico.
And yes, they're all related.

Everyone loves tourists who bring money. Ask me how I know.
