Oh, no. How terribly sad and such a loss to the country.

Frowner

edit: Just saw on a crawler that he was fully vaccinated....

Turns out he also had multiple myeloma. Am guessing the treatment includes immunosuppressive drugs, so that would explain why the vaccine didn't protect him.

Powell was an accomplished and distinguished American who served the country well in many roles. There was a lot of talk about him becoming the nation’s first Black President.

I just heard an interview with Ted Koppel who knew Colin Powell very well and for many years.

The last question was whether Powell will be remembered foremost for his speech to the UN that got us into the war in Iraq based on incorrect statements that Saddam Hussein had biological weapons.

Koppel just said he hoped not.

I'm sure there will be many on the Trumpist right who will say something stupid along the lines of, "see, he was vaccinated and died anyway. Therefore vaccines don't work. No to mandates."

Really moving words from Col Bill Smullen, who was Powell's Chief of Staff when he was SecState.

He was in tears.

That guy soiled the bed early on. He’s responsible for the deaths of thousands of Americans.

He’s a national embarrassment. May we never speak of him again.

War crimal. Of course he'll be remembered for that speech.
