Part of my cable package is Channel 1 - Spectrum news. Not sure but I think Spectrum is Charter.

I’m really impressed for several reasons. The news is seriously local with only a nod to national and world news. The readers look and sound like real people, and in fact the main anchor is a woman who is retired from roller derby. She’s very good but no media bimbo. The readers have accents - they sound like LA. Local sports teams get lots of play.

And NO opinionated bloviators. Works for me - I don’t want opinions, I want facts.

Ah, Spectrum, not ....

Here, Spectrum's local news is NY1. When it was Time Warner it was somewhat better, but it's still good. Like your description of it.
