CHASI loved playing football.
An eye injury caused me to miss a season. The following year everyone else had grown to twice my size.
I started track.

Mary AnnaEvery Friday night for the six years I was in marching band.
Plus the occasional SEC game when I was at Ole Miss.
Since then, I've lived in two big-time college football towns and managed to avoid attending a single game. I can enjoy a game, but I
do not want to fight the crowds to get there. I'll fight a crowd to go to Disney World or see a rock concert, though. Priorities...

ShiroKuroI was also in marching band up until sophomore or junior year in HS, so I attended football games a lot, but I didn't necessarily pay attention to the game itself. And then my undergrad school, grad school, and now my employer, are all very big football schools. So I'm sort of tuned in to football, and during the fall I pay attention to how those three schools are doing, esp. once it becomes bowl season.
But I don't think I've watched a game from beginning to end since, well, probably not since I was in high school.
And I now have a lot of concerns about concussions and the way college athletes are taken advantage of etc. so these days I feel a sort of general discomfort with the sport and its idolization... And hypocrisy in myself when I am glad that our team wins (which they do a lot...)
So, yeah, it's complicated.
